What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is an FDA approved dermal filler that is made of biocompatible hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar in the body that hydrates the skin and acts as a cushioning agent. With the loss of skin volume, clients may appear older than they really are.
Juvéderm Ultra XC was formulated for this exact reason – to give superficial wrinkles an extra boost of volume. Juvéderm Ultra is typically used around the eye and lip area where wrinkles tend to be more delicate. Clients who have had this procedure done can enjoy up to 6-9 months of noticeably younger skin.
Treatment Overview
The procedure typically lasts about 30-45 minutes. A tiny needle is used to inject the fillers into key areas of the skin. Although there is no downtime associated with both types, some patients may experience temporary swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection site.
